Western Cape Community Focal points receive capacity building through Migration Multi Partner Trust Fund
The Migration Multi Partner Trust Fund project conducted a capacity building training for community and institutional focal points and networks using the Community Capacity Enhancement through Community Conversation (CCE-CC) in Cape Town. The overall objective of this CCE training was to strengthen the capacity of community focal points to foster relationship between migrant and local communities through community conversations. Capacity building initiatives within the framework of the UN Joint Programme and other ongoing social cohesion activities are directly contributing to the NAP’s Action 13. A total of 35 participants attended the training. These included participants from the Department of Art, Sports and Culture, Department of Social Development, civil society organizations, migrant associations as well as representatives from the traditional leaders of the Zikhali Traditional House and Amadumisa Diverse Kingdom. Through the different training sessions, participants were provided with an opportunity to interact and engage with the different tools that encourage dialogues and conversations at the community level particularly on difficult topics as a way of promoting social cohesion.
