Multi-Sector Migration & Health Training
19 – 22 October 2021 - The Sexual and Reproduction Health and Right and HIV (SRHR-HIV) project team organised a multi sectoral capacity building at Ingonyama Lodge, Mpumalanga Province.
The training was attended by different stakeholders in the SHRHR project operating Bushbuckridge and Nkomazi municipalities. Topics that were covered during the training included Understanding Migration and Health; Phases of Migration; Push and Pull factors of Migration; Challenges of Migration; The linkage between Gender Based Violence and Migration; The role of Collaboration and Coordination in promoting positive health outcomes for migrants, sex workers, the young and vulnerable.
The Training was facilitated by IOM South Africa, United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UN- HCR). The South African National Prosecution Authority and the South African Human Rights Commission.
