IOM Signs Memorandum of Understanding with FIFPro Africa Division to promote Social Cohesion and Inclusion through football
The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) in South Africa signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federation of International Professional Footballers (FIFPro) Africa Division to work together to promote social cohesion and inclusion through football.
Football stadiums are among the powerful forums that unite people, as they come together to cheer for their favourite teams and players, regardless of background or beliefs. IOM will work closely with FIFPRO Africa to leverage the platform of its football icons and leagues to impart factual and evidence-based information about migration, address key social justice issues linked to migration management such as human trafficking and significantly contribute to enhancing social cohesion and Africa regional integration that is enshrined in the African Union Vision 2063.
