Approved test clinics

You must be tested for tuberculosis (TB) if you are going to the UK for more than 6 months. Children under 11 years don't need an xray but will also get a certificate. 

Your test must be from a clinic approved by the UK visa offices. They won’t accept a TB test certificate from a clinic they haven’t approved.

Attending the clinic

Contact the IOM to book an appointment. Make it clear you need the test for a UK visa application. You will get an appointment within a few days of your request. At busy times you may have to wait longer for an appointment. We can’t arrange or prioritise appointments for you.

  1. What you should bring with you
  • your passport
  • proof of payment of the test fee (printed) - NB: Payment must be done upfront

If you’ve had TB in the past or have any other lung disease you should also provide details of your previous screening and, if possible, your medical notes and x-ray results.

If you’d like an appointment with a female clinician, please ask when you schedule your appointment.

If you need to cancel your appointment you should contact the IOM and refer to their cancellation policy and procedure.

Due to rand/dollar fluctuation the prices are reviewed every 6 months.

Presently R2500.00 – 11 years and older. 

                R1250.00 for all under 11 years.
