Pre-Migration Health Activities (PMHA) are one of IOM’s most established migration management services, provided at the IOM Pretoria Migration Health Assessment Centre (MHAC) for various destination countries, including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom and the United States of America.

IOM South Africa has been delivering pre-migration health assessments since 2014. In 2018, IOM established a Migration Health Assessment Centre (MHAC) in Pretoria. To enhance geographical coverage for UK bound applicants, IOM has partnered with ShipMed Medical Services in Durban and Intercare Century City in Cape Town. Additionally, IOM has partnered with the Lancet TB Laboratory to provide Tuberculosis Diagnostic Services.
