Specific objectives

  • Within the framework of this activity, IOM seeks to engage an organization to

    contribute to the development of multi-media information packages which includes: Promoting of risk communication and community engagement (RCCE) activities through communication with communities beyond COVID - 19

  • Conduct 6 information sessions with migrants and migration affected communities
  • Promoting the concept of social cohesion in South African, and the mutually beneficial aspects of inclusive practice between migrants and host communities in South Africa (“We Are Together” campaign)
  • Help develop and disseminate awareness raising information against xenophobia and stigma against migrants, including within the context of COVID-19
  • Develop social media content (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube) to support the above mentioned goals

Expected results and deliverables

  • Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) prepared to serve beyond COVID-19 prevention messaging
  • Develop and produce 1 radio message on social cohesion (coexistence of migrants and nationals in local communities; highlighting the positive outcomes of social cohesion)
  • Translate the aforementioned message in English + 2 local languages
  • Identify and facilitate airing or the messages in strategically selected community

    radio stations

  • Develop and film/produce a brief audio-visual “We are together” mini-videos (3

    three 45-seconds videos), showcasing migrants and local communities

    living/working together (social cohesion)

  • Facilitate airing of the mini-videos on SABC TV
  • Design a “We Are Together Against COVID-19” billboard of migrants and local

    communities, and select and secure placement of billboard in strategically located

    available billboard space

  • Design project t-shirts and A4 document folders
